    About Me

I was raised in Delaware County where I met Jen, my wife of 25 years, at Cardinal O’Hara High School. Jen and I have three incredible children that have been the beneficiaries of Cumberland Valley School District’s educational and extracurricular experiences. We moved to Hampden Township nearly two decades ago when I was working for Deloitte. I am now a Principal Program Manager at Microsoft within our product engineering team, where I manage a global team of product experts. Our focus is on streamlining operations through automation. Jen is a middle school science teacher at St. Joe’s Catholic School in Mechanicsburg, PA.

My experience with leadership and community service includes my role as the volunteer Treasurer of the CV Eagles Cheerleading Boosters for the past two years. I managed their annual budget, a year-round responsibility overseeing the financial aspect of fundraising efforts, expenditures, and financial planning for an organization that enables two competitive cheerleading teams, 6 coaches, and over 50 families. This role has required financial stewardship, trust, and collaboration with families, athletes, coaches, and CV School District stakeholders. My efforts to improve financial traceability through electronic payments, a team website, a parent app and online forms improved communication, coordination, and financial transparency, a reflection of my passion in modernizing processes for efficiency and accountability.

Within the District, more broadly, I’ve volunteered across all school levels, including participating in Junior Achievement activities and various school leadership events. Additionally, my time as HOA President for my Dartmouth Green community from 2020 to 2022 gave me firsthand experience in community governance during a necessary overhaul of our community’s covenants.

Outside of work and volunteering, I am often on the sidelines cheering for my sons and their teammates at Cumberland Valley Football and Hampden Township Baseball games. I am also a road cycling enthusiast, where I spend many hours on the bike with my friends in the Millersburg Velo Club.

    Issues

    • Education Outcomes
    • Organizational Empowerment
    • Financial Optimization
    • Communication
    • Make our School Board Meetings Fun Again!
    Holistic Student Success

I believe public education must unlock every student’s potential—academically, socially, and emotionally—through a balance of rigorous curriculum, athletics, arts, and special education support. My goal is to ensure teachers and staff are empowered with resources to help every student soar, celebrating milestones regularly and proudly!

    Data-Driven Program Enhancement

I’m open to creative education initiatives and changes, such as block scheduling, but through a collaborative, evidence-based exploration and case from the administration. My focus is on making informed decisions that prioritize student outcomes and teacher well-being, collaborating with stakeholders to assess and refine programs as we learn and evolve.

Athletics, Arts, and Special Interest Groups

I believe athletics, arts, and special interest clubs are vital outlets that enhance the education experience, providing encouragement and motivation that drive students to thrive academically and personally. These activities build teamwork and pride, rounding out the classroom and ensuring participants rise to be their best.

    Inclusive and Supportive Culture

I support investing in qualified staff like counselors, social workers, and paraprofessionals to build an inclusive culture guided by the Portrait of an Eagle values—resilience, respect, responsibility, adaptability, and leadership—ensuring all students thrive, as evidenced by my son Gabe’s support during tough times. I’ll protect these roles as a safety net for kids without other support, rejecting calls to limit schools to “traditional education” only.

    Administration and Teacher Alignment

I understand that student success hinges on a healthy culture where the Board, administration, and teachers work in harmony for the collective good of CVSD, drawing from my wife Jen’s teaching dedication and my experience supporting athletics programs. I’ll champion resources, trust, and collaboration to empower our educators and administrators, ensuring they’re equipped to foster excellence from the top down.

    Sustainable Tax and Revenue Strategies

I’ll vote for annual Act 1 index tax increases to match inflation and community growth, ensuring we mitigate cuts to programs and staff, while advocating for consistent business reassessments at time of sale to keep planning predictable and fair.  I support efforts to collaborate with our local legislatures to arm them with the information to take into their State House and Senate Committee deliberations to ensure Cumberland Valley School District is afforded our fair share of basic education funding for a District experiencing rapid double-digit growth.

    Leading with an Abundance Mindset

I’ll actively seek out CVSD’s business community leaders—CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and entrepreneurs—for partnerships to engage in workforce-aligned programs and jointly beneficial District revenue opportunities.  We have a tremendous amount of opportunity across a multitude of skills and industries right here in our local area that is seeking the talent that CVSD Schools produce!

    Prudent Outsourcing Evaluation

I will critically evaluate outsourcing services based on its role and impact on students, favoring in-house mental health and paraprofessional staff for their critical connections, while exploring other functions that could be contracted; thereby reducing some of our healthcare benefit cost burden (our fastest growing cost factor). My decisions will hinge on data and stakeholder input, ensuring cost savings never compromise teacher or student experience.

    Engaged Stakeholder Collaboration

I’ll seek to institute regular, purposeful town-hall style discussions with teachers, staff, parents, community leaders, and administrators to align on solutions.  The more we talk to one another and not our keyboards or one-way microphones, the quicker we can come to resolutions on concerns, address conflict, and encourage the community to bring their ideas and insights forward.  This collaborative approach ensures the community owns our District’s direction.

    Pride in District Legacy

I’m committed to building on CVSD’s reputation for excellence, leading with pride to elevate our administration, teachers, and students, inspired by my family’s journey and my wife’s teaching passion. Creating space for celebrations will be a staple in my comments during School Board meetings.

    Monthly School Board Newsletter

I’d like to explore launching a Monthly School Board Newsletter to keep the community informed with accomplishments, agendas, committee meeting summaries, and links to relevant resources, ensuring transparency and connection, and empower families to stay engaged with CVSD’s progress.

    Results-Driven Decision Making

I’ll focus on actionable solutions that deliver for students and staff, using data and collaboration rather than getting bogged down in activist rhetoric or rehashed debates. My professional leadership experience equips me to make clear, principled calls that move CVSD forward, not stall it with politics.

    Unity Over Division

I reject divisive agendas from extreme groups looking for problems to create activism around and instead call to unite the community around shared goals. My cross-filing and focus on pride in CVSD reflect a commitment to action that bridges gaps, not widens them with ideology.

    Proactive Problem Solving

I’ll tackle challenges like funding optimization or voucher expenditures with practical strategies—rallying the Board and community for local fixes—rather than relying on activist noise. My pledge to shield students from external pressures is about real action, ensuring CVSD’s strength endures without political distractions.
